JEN MARDEN: NY Team-

Jen Marden, Co-founder, is no stranger to the media, fashion and glamour industries. Marden has brought her spirit to help others with the founding of Jen Marden: NY. With a family background and roots in Hollywood, who better to organize for you press, celebrity and media coverage than a celebrity herself? Before deciding to open her own Manhattan-based business, Jen studied fashion advertising and marketing at the renowned Fashion Institute in New York City. Directly after, she took to her roots of Hollywood and went to 21st Century Fox. It was here she worked in their PR and special events department. She planned movie premiers, awards shows for VH1 and MTV, amongst others. It was also around this time that Jen started volunteering as a wish granter for the Make-A- Wish Foundation where she discovered the real meaning of internal happiness and the lasting effect it has on others. At that point, Jen knew that helping others was the path she was supposed to take. On her newly-discovered journey, Jen’s main goal is, “to be the change she wishes to see in the world.” Realizing that she can use her experience to share the true meaning of happiness with today’s society is the reason why she has done hundreds of charity events pro bono. In her own words, “It’s through awareness and dedication that change can be achieved.” Jen’s connection, both personal and professional, to charity and non-profit work is why she has such a good reputation with her clients; it was they who eventually pushed her to branch out. She was able to connect with clients unlike anyone else, and the personal attention that she gives to helping people is a true, vested interest in their causes. She became a proud supporter of many charities based in New York City such as The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the ASPCA, which both have a spot in Jen’s heart. She is also on several committee boards such as the St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, AHRC, Free Arts and Memorial Sloane Kettering. Based in Manhattan, Jen occupies her time by consulting with others who might not know how to go about setting up events. It's with her company, Jen Marden: NY, that Jen hopes to offer her services to the world.

Matt Wayne, Co-founder, having grown up surrounded by the media and entertainment industry, has taken his cue from and joined with Jen Marden: NY. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Matt studied Linguistics with a focus in computational linguitics. Since then, Matt has taken his love of communication to the international level. Highly entrepreneurial, he has an international product line of instructional DVDs geared towards magicians. He is also the owner of The Celebrity Magicianä Incorporated, and you can find his work in stores all over the world. These products educate and instruct both young and elder on the performance art of magic. He is also the Spokesperson behind iPhones, Touch Tricksä series, which is the first virtual magic set for the iPhone and iPod Touch. He is also a partner at Microbiz Incorporatedä, a publishing house which produces even more products for those interested in learning magic, both in book and video form. Highly media- based, he is also the magician responsible for the famed, Howcast Incorporated, How-To Magic Videos which have garnered nearly a million views on popular internet video platforms alone. These viral videos have helped educate a larger, more public audience in magic. Essentially anything in the mainstream media that is magic-oriented, whether it’s a Network television special, or on the movie studio lot, he most likely has a hand in. He has lectured on and taught the art of perception and mnemonics at the University level at intsitutions such as Harvard and the University of Nebraska. He is a sought-out performer and consultant in the world of magic; on the performance side, he works solely for celebrities and elite social groups. From entertaining at celebrity weddings to private performances for royalty, Matt has accomodated all imagineable venues. It is with all these skills in business and marketing that he joins Jen Marden: NY.

High Turnout for Steampunk Event in Oxford UK.

Artists from all over the world including the UK and the USA came to Oxford University on Monday 12th October for the Launch of the Steampunk Art Exhibition curated by designer and exhibitor, Art Donovan. The much anticipated event was the greatest assembly of Steampunk artists in the world.

Jos and Hannie De Vink from the Netherlands, Eric and Sarah Freitas from the US, Stephane Halleux from Belgium, Vianney Halter from Switzerland accompanied by Phillpe Mariez and Bertrand, James Richardson Brown and Azzy (UK), Ian "Herr Doktor" Crichton and Lady Jane (UK), Thomas D. Willeford (US) and Amanda Scrivener from the UK are the many artists exhibiting at the event until February 2010.

Curator Art Donovan said "I promise you that the art in this show is nothing like you have ever seen. The Opening Day of the show and the Steampunk Lecture on Tuesday evening had enjoyed a full-capacity crowd in attendance at the Museum. (As a personal observation, if I may: I'd given my curator's lecture in the main Museum hall. As I looked out toward the crowd, directly in front of my vision on the far opposite wall, was displayed Albert Einstein's original blackboard with his hand written, chalk equations from his lecture at the Museum. The word, "honored" is sorely inadequate to describe the feeling, as one could only imagine. Oh, no pressure there , Mate :)"
